Our Partners

Elk Grove Food Bank

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Vulcan Materials Company! Every month, Elk Grove Food Bank Services serves over 9,000 men, women, and children. Without outstanding community partners like Vulcan, we'd have to turn them away. We are so grateful for the generosity and support as we work together to help the immediate needs of food-insecure people.

Ahead with Horses

Vulcan Materials Company has been a wonderful neighbor and decades-long supporter of AHEAD With Horses, which is a non-profit developmental therapeutic riding program for children with all types of disabilities in the Los Angeles area. They have donated truckloads of sand to help keep our Therapy Horses happy and healthy so that they can serve our special needs children, and allow us to spend our much-needed funds in other ways so we can benefit as many children as possible. We are so grateful for their support!

School support comes in many forms and we appreciate that Vulcan steps up to provide that support. Volunteering your time recently to judge our Halloween parade not only helped ease the workload of our teachers and administrators, but it provided a fun morale break for the kids. We, of course, always appreciate your financial contributions to our school but volunteering your time is really heartwarming. Vulcan’s commitment to enhancing student success by expanding STEAM opportunities and taking learning beyond the classroom is invaluable. Bursch Elementary is extremely grateful to Vulcan for their willingness to partner with the community and local schools. Thanks, Vulcan!

Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee

Vulcan Materials Company has been an excellent community partner with the Riverside National Cemetery and its Support Committee. Over the years, Vulcan has donated their time and talents in many areas including in-kind donations of material for our Honor Guard, who stand to watch at each Veteran Service. They have also been major supporters of our fundraising projects which include the beautification of the Cemetery as well as purchasing equipment to keep this National Treasure pristine for the Veterans and the families it serves.

Vulcan Materials Company has been a wonderful partner for the past 17+ years, driving conservation of the little-known and underappreciated Delhi Sands Flower-loving Fly by preserving the largest contiguous acreage of its remaining dune habitat in an area of rapid industrialization. Vulcan sees the value of open space for many unique wildlife and plant species and is a strong advocate that continues to be invested in the success of Rivers & Lands Conservancy’s vision.

Vulcan Materials is an excellent corporate partner on the San Joaquin River Parkway. They are good neighbors, committed to land conservation as evidenced by the donation of the 20-acre site of the Coke Hallowell Center for River Studies, and they have been kind enough to provide materials for many projects over the years.

One in five children in the United States lives in poverty, and shoes are one of the most expensive items for low-income families to provide. The simple gift of a pair of shoes can increase a child's confidence, attendance, and performance at school. Vulcan Materials Company is taking the time to make a positive impact on kids in their communities by providing brand new shoes and socks, and we are thankful to have them as a strong community partner.

Shoes That Fit

Vulcan Materials Company has been a crucial supporter and partner of Sierra Foothill Conservancy’s youth education program, helping to provide quality on-the-land experiences to hundreds of youth from underserved communities of the Central Valley each year. Without partners like Vulcan, SFC would struggle to provide these field trip experiences on our McKenzie Preserve at no cost to schools and students needing support.

Allyson Brooks, Community Engagement Program Manager

Sierra Foothills Conservancy

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your incredibly kind act. It is not easy for my staff to witness a daily reminder that there are children who lack some of the basic needs we take for granted. Your generous gift of shoes and socks made me cry. Every child deserves a good pair of shoes. Thanks for making this a reality at Taylor Mountain. We are so grateful.
